Re: The Benjamin 392 Air Rifle, A Great Survival Tool

Thanks, as far as I know the 392 is the only .22 pumper out there. Daisy used to make a good one but not anymore.

The Benjamin 392 Air Rifle, A Great Survival Tool

This summer, I started taking a serious look at air guns for the first time in about 20 years. I had an itch to start shooting again, but I can't shoot firearms in my back yard anymore like I used to. And even .22 rimfire ammo isn't cheap anymore. I figured that air guns are the best way to get some...

Re: Cutting out the middle man!

I really like the Opinel #8, and carry one every day. A good sharp folder and a hatchet should be able to do anything you need to do. I carried a Cold Steel Pocket Bushman for a few years too, until I lost it. That thing was actually bigger than most fixed blades that I would carry now, and would de...

Hand Made Knives For Sale by Wood, Steel & Leather

Hi guys, I decided that instead of cluttering up the Marketplace section with a new topic every time I make a knife, I'll just put all future knives in this thread, so don't forget to check back periodically to examine my wares as I add them. I just finished a piece that will be of interest to many ...

Dutch Baby

This is a recipe I came across a while ago, and finally tried out. I made it in the oven, but I figured it would make a good bushcraft recipe because it's so simple and ideal for dutch oven cooking. It's sort of a baked pancake, originating with early German settlers in the US. It can be a breakfast...

Hand Forged Puukko

Greetings, fam. Just finished up a new knife this weekend. It's a small-ish puukko, with a 2.5 inch blade. The handle is a piece of an old oak stump that I'd been saving for years. Came out looking way nicer than I expected. Check the Ebay link for more pictures and details. I've got it listed for $...

Re: Hand Forged Leuku Knife

Thanks! I'm surprised it's still around, the 4-inch version I made sold in a week. I might get attached if no one claims it soon.

Hand Forged Leuku Knife

If anyone out here has been thinking about buying a Leuku, here's your chance to get a good one. The Leuku is a traditional survival knife that goes back centuries in Finland and Sweden, where they are used for everything from chopping wood to butchering reindeer. I made this one with a 6 inch blade...

Re: Knives, Axes and Saws

The knife I actually have on me when I'm outside doing stuff is my Opinel #8. Bought it on a whim a few years ago because it was only about 12 bucks (more now, probably), but it became my full-time edc from then on. I haven't felt the need to replace it. Kind of ironic that I would carry a cheap poc...

Re: Question for all Members

Seems like a good idea to bring more people in. I'm a member of a couple of knife forums, and it definitely makes things more interesting when there's enough new posts every day to keep you reading for a while. I've been meaning to give it shout out on my channel, just waiting for a suitably bushcra...

Hello

You can call me Dan. I'm just a humble knifemaker. See that bowie knife in the logo? I made it. I like making things, hanging out in the woods, and pursuing a self-reliant lifestyle.
